Affected by an Effect

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”

A life is simply a combination of other’s actions. What the quote means to me is that every action has an effect afterwards, maybe good but possibly bad. We are connected in every way possible even if we lived decades away. Eddie from The Five People You Meet In Heaven, has made a dramatic effect or been affected from at least five people. Some he actually never even met before.  Regardless if he’s even met them before, their actions and his actions molded each other’s lives. Not intentionally but every act, every action or idea will intertwine with someone else’s, for the good or the bad.

Every life will affect someone. No matter what. Our lives are connected together like dominos. If we fall, others will fall too.  If you take one domino out, one life out, everything changes. We do it unintentionally, which makes it hard to prevent. Like separating a breeze from the wind.

There is no such thing as a life with no meaning. Each life has a purpose, whether to prevent someone’s death or cause it. When Eddie was young, he ran in front of a car, not knowing any consequences, and causing the first person he met in heaven, the Blue Man, to die. Ruby, the third person Eddie meets in Heaven, the reason why Ruby Pier was built, letting Eddie have wonderful memories, a job, and a death.

This quote was about actions having consequences and those consequences having an effect on people around us. We are all connected, we will all be affected.
