All Lives Intertwine

“We are all connected,” in other words all lives intertwine. You never know how your life will affect others or what impact others’ lives will have on you. What may seem like a common occurrence to you could change someone else’s life. For example in “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” the first person Eddie meets in Heaven is the Blue Man who tells him this quote, "that there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."  The Blue Man and Eddie had a very simple but life changing encounter. Because Eddie was a young boy, this may have been a scary experience for him but he may have never thought of this experience after that day. However, the Blue Man’s life was forever changed. With the almost-accident on his mind, he crashes into a parked car, has a heart attack, and dies.
Another experience Eddie had that was significant to him and forever changed someone was the last person Eddie meets in Heaven. When Eddie was in the Philippines during the war he blew up a shack where a little girl was waiting for her mom.  He saw her moving and tried to save her but was shot in the leg. Once Eddie recovered he most likely never thought of the situation again but the little girl was burned to death.

Throughout the story we see examples of how lives intertwine, how “there are no random acts,” and how “we are all connected.”
