The quote, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” means several things to me. I think this means that everything happens for a reason. I also think that it means that our actions not only affect us but they affect the people around us too. Even if we don't realize it, many people affect us during our lives mentally and physically. They cause us to say or do certain things which can also affect others. The effects we have on others can be big or small and can easily change somebody’s life. On page 48 in The Five People You Meet in Heaven the Blue Man says, “...the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death doesn’t just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed.” This makes me think that all lives are connected and cannot be separated. The Blue Man is very important to Eddie because he teaches him that all lives intersect and are significant. The Blue Man says, “Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know.” This makes me think that everyone is a part of an interdependent web of life which connects everybody in the world. The quote, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind” shows that everything happens for a reason, that our actions affect us and others, and that all lives are connected.
