Dahlia Lama once said, “Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.” Without realizing, Eddie changed each of the five peoples lives that he meets in heaven. Joseph Corvelzchik also known as the Blue Man said, “That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” Every person you meet either changes your life or theirs.
Just because you’ve never met somebody does not mean you did not alter their life. Eddie never met the Blue Man or Tala, however their lives changed because of him. Eddie and his friends were playing ball when it rolled out on the street so he went to go get the baseball, meanwhile the Blue Man swerved out the way, missing Eddie, but crashing into a parked car and dying. The author wrote, “…one angle ends happily, at an arcade… and the other ends badly, in a city morgue…” Now take Eddie grown up and at war, kidnapped by the enemy, worked and held in a coal mine for nearly half a year. Finally escaping from captivity, decides to burn down the enemy’s supply huts and coal mines. On the other hand we have a child named Tala who’s mom told her the hut would keep her safe. Eddie ended up killing the little girl but escaped the prison camp.
You do not have to have a conversation with someone to influence their lives. By doing everyday things you could impact a life tremendously.
