Connected Through Life

In the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the main character, Eddie, journeys abroad Heaven to learn five very important lessons. The first person he meets is Joseph Corvelszchik, also known as the blue man. He states,” That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” In my perspective, this quote means nothing in life is ever coincidental; everything is connected in one way or another. Even the smallest action can have a big influence on another’s life.
Everything happens for a reason. For example, when Eddie was a young boy his ball accidentally rolled into the busy street. As he ran out, a car had to swerve to miss him. God obviously knew it was not Eddie’s time, for he still had things to accomplish. The person driving, the blue man, died shortly after. If Eddie would have died that day, we can assume no one would have been there to save the young girl that day at Ruby Pier. This helps prove everything happens for a reason. Therefore, although Eddie’s running in the street meant nothing to him, it greatly impacted another’s life without Eddie even realizing it. The smallest actions can have the biggest consequences.

Through life, you become connected with many different people and you may not know it. The smallest interactions with strangers can have a bigger impact than you could ever imagine. There are no random acts. There is an importance in recognizing that every action results in a reaction- good or bad. Everything that happens in your life plays a role in what you become in your future.
