All Lives Connected

"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." This quote, from The Five People You Meet In Heaven, indicates that every choice we make can not only affect us, but can also affect others too. Have you ever wondered if the person you talked to at the local store would affect your life in some way? Well, their choices can affect your life, even in the smallest way, and it is not a coincidence. There are no such things as coincidences. If something is meant to be, then it will happen. The quote can also be compared to a line of dominoes. If one domino falls over, the rest will fall down too. Our choices are part of a chain reaction and also affects the lives of other people.   For example, Eddie decides to run out into the street to retrieve his baseball and he almost gets hit by the Ford Model A which is driven by the Blue Man. Due to his young age and obliviousness to his surrounding environment, he does not notice that by doing that he just put both of their lives in danger. In fact, Eddie retrieves his baseball and runs back to his friends like it was no big deal to him. Little did he know, his decision resulted in the Blue Man getting into a car crash which ended with death for him. The Blue Man's life was affected by a choice a stranger (Eddie) decided to make. That showing that their lives are somehow connected even though they were nothing more than strangers before meeting in heaven. Eventually Eddie learns that the decisions he made affected the lives of the people around him. This quote has taught me that every choice I make will affect someone else's life and I could never change that. Similar to the way I can no more separate my life from another than I can separate a breeze from the wind.
