Life's Purpose

          Purpose is defined as the reason for which something exists or is done, made, or used. God created us with a purpose. "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."  This quote from The Five People You Meet in Heaven basically means to me that God has a purpose for everything that happens, nothing is random. All of the decisions we make connect us to those around us.  Eddie, the main character in the book, meets five people in heaven that he affected in some way on Earth whether he knew it or not. 

            God puts people in your life for you to impact or for them to impact you. Sometimes it is people that you might not know, that impact your life. For example, Eddie worked at an amusement park called Ruby Pier his whole life. He died at that amusement park while attempting to save a little girl's life when a roller coaster malfunctioned. He made that decision to risk his life for the safety of a stranger. That little girl unexpectedly impacted Eddie's life that day. We all make important decisions in our lives although they may not all be a matter of life and death for those around us. The people that impact your life the most are the ones that cause you to become a better person. We have to remember everyone in our lives are all part of Gods plan. A bible verse to illustrate that is Jeremiah 29:11 which states, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." What this Bible verse means is that God has a plan for your life. It might not always be what you want but God has a purpose for everything that happens and it is ultimately for your good.
