Connections

"There are no random acts. That we are all connected. That we can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." These are true words spoken by a fictional character from The Five People You Meet in Heaven. To me, this quote implies that everything happens for a reason. It also implies that we are all connected, but that is quite obvious. For example, say a man establishes an aquarium, and another man receives a job there. The man that got the job falls ill and so his son takes over his job. Although the first and last man never met, they were both connected. They are connected because of two simple acts that could have easily been avoided, and even this shows that these two acts happened for a reason, even if the people could not see that at that moment. Also, as shown in the book, even the most random of people are connected. Just as the Blue Man and Eddie are connected by an almost menial action, and same with Ruby and Eddie, these little connections seem amazing. In addition, this quote reminds me of a separate quote. "We are all connected to everyone and everything in the universe. Therefore, everything one does as an individual affects the whole." by Serge Kahili King. These two quotes both explain the same thing: We are all connected, and because of that, our actions affect others, even in the littlest ways, and that thought in itself, is awe-inspiring.
