Domino Effect

In the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the Blue Man states "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." As I sat and thought what these words mean to me I realized that as much as we are own individuals, we leave an imprint of ourselves on each human being we come in contact with. Just like in the game of Dominoes, we never can be certain how the next piece will be struck by the one before it; if it will fall off course or push forward towards its' goal. However, we know that each piece is important and affects every other one it touches. Although, we are much more than game pieces, the principle behind it applies. We may not always have control of how things happen or even how others may benefit or suffer from our actions. What we do have control over is leading our lives in a way to positively influence others lives to the best of our ability.
There are also situations in life where things happen because someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time, These things are unavoidable and unfortunate but still impact many people around them. Life can be changed so quickly and so drastically at the hands of one person. I hope that the lives I change throughout my life are for the better. I will always remember how one simple mistake or favor could determine whether that someone continues on with the pattern of the world or makes their own new unique path.
